We have absolutely zero threat from wide players. The drop off of salah needs to be studied he’s completely useless at the moment and gakpo is the biggest one trick pony I’ve ever seen! Great win, wirtz getting better every game
S
SnooDoodles4099 • -8 points
Really hope we win champions league and shut everyone up about how inconsistent and how we arent going to get top 5🤡and if we do all the slot out losers can do one. Sick of seeing negativity towards him like its actually going to help anything.

Odd_Musician_1368 • 2 points
We’ve won it with far less quality in the team! You’re right tho – a lot of us need a dose of perspective despite how crap it’s been to watch this season. Huge final stretch ahead and we’ll rally. I’d be stunned if slot isn’t still in charge next season
L
locboy92 • 11 points
Happy with the W. Although frustrating watching Salah and Ekitike making tired defensive runs and loosing possession late in the game. Can’t understand the 85 minute subs. Give Little Italy a chance.
S
SnooDoodles4099 • 9 points
Everyone in comments talking about robbo to start and kerkez bad but no body talking about cody gakpo, and how inconsistent he’s been this season. So predictable when it comes to his pressing, feel like every time he gets the ball he’s gonna loose it running at the defender. Just the same cut in on his right foot, too scared to use his left foot
S
Safe-Shelter8265 • 5 points
I think offensively he improved a lot today, had a few good crosses, cutbacks and one twos in the box. Still such a downgrade from Diaz though.
S
SnooDoodles4099 • 0 points
Agreed mate 100%, still surprised we couldn’t agree to his terms and up his weekly wage like he wanted, definitely would of been worth it. But who knows whats happening behind scenes could’ve been more bigger then just wages. But when it comes to attacking capabilities and running at defenders and successful dribbles. Jota and diaz were such a big key factor to that attacking esc we had. And dont get me started on trent wow. Questionable at his defending at times but when it come to those long balls forward and diagonal forward passes and creativity on the counters that we’ve been really missing that this season in our attacking phases.
O
Odd_Musician_1368 • 1 points
Yeah in the absence of a creative winger we asked a lot to totally change the system to make it work. He’s absolutely not good enough on LW. Everything goes through the middle now – but you only get a few windows to cut open teams that way hence we look a bit lost
F
Far_Isopod_906 • -4 points
I just hope we don’t fire Slot and hire Frank.
W
Wicksy1994 • 24 points
Why on earth would you think that’s going to happen?! Weirdest comment of the day

Far_Isopod_906 • 12 points
We looked a lot more solid because I think VVD could focus on defending, instead of coaching Kerkez. Robbo much better at defending than Kerkez…good decision by Arne.
S
Safe-Shelter8265 • 1 points
Kerkez will start more games than Robertson still, and I can’t for the life of me understand what he sees in him. Robbo is a better footballer in every capacity.
F
Far_Isopod_906 • 1 points
I think Arne realized his job was on the line, due to a weak defense, so instead of selecting Kerkez, he picked Robbo…result? Much better overall defense.
L
LTJJD • 1 points
It’s also in my mind that this was his signing so he has to prove he can work out. Which is so silly
O
Odd_Musician_1368 • 0 points
Agreed. He’s been blessed with reliable full backs for years. Wise decision for that kind of fixture. Crazy how light our squad is
B
Beanybob95 • 2 points
Has he though? Pretty sure Trent used to get slaughtered by critics and fans about his poor defensive play several years back. He was quite unreliable at times, but you loved him because his cross was potent. Was only after a couple of seasons that he started to really get reliable with his defensive game.
O
Odd_Musician_1368 • 1 points
Yeah that’s fair, maybe more so on Robbo then than Trent given that’s VVD’s side. We had better legs in midfield too and won the ball back way quicker, now we’re way more exposed. Need CB backup asap they aren’t as sharp and having to run more now
E

We’re the masters of seeing blocked shots, Ballard was massive for them. Endo put in a proper shift back there so gutted to see him stretchered off. Gomez tbf didn’t put a foot wrong when he came on. Jones bright, Chiesa bright. Both CBs were great and Flo first half was a joy to watch. Besides that there wasn’t too much to shout out about.

Imagine moaning after an away win to a team who were unbeaten at home all season. Have a day off. A big win and a great performance. Pleased for the lads and the manager.
O
Odd_Musician_1368 • 1 points
I agree. We need to make our mind up and be realistic right now – winning ugly in a gritty game like that has been missing all season and we need it, just look at some of arsenals recent games. I’m happy if we sneak wins and finish top 4. Save the attractive football for next season

It’s so frustrating week in week out mate
J
Jallen9108 • 11 points
Im glad for the win but 22 shots and only 3 on goal is pretty bad
K
kal14144 • 8 points
They had 13 blocks which accounts for most of that.
D
Dire_Wolf_57 • 5 points
Plus that lovely Wirtz grass cutter that juuust slid past the far post.
L
lfcgirl123 • 8 points
Fucking hell take the win and move on Sunderland defended really well and we found it hard to break them down
J
Jallen9108 • 1 points
This the only game you’ve watched this season? We fi d it hard to break every team down.
L
lfcgirl123 • 3 points
Sunderland are unbeaten at home nobody else could break them down at home either and we won take the win and be happy
M
MotorPrompt9897 • 1 points
finally figured out we can play keep away to close out games and yet Alisson and VVD booted long balls for no reason to give back possession.
Y
yagorenima • 2 points
Great win today but I think there needs to be some serious questions asked of Slot refusing to bench Gakpo. The subs could have been made earlier to freshen the midfield. I don’t know why but even with the win it all feels flat. No inspiration, too much frustration. Bad decision making. A better team would have cleaned up there. Good signs from about 75% of the players, and some others let us down so much. Also style of play & management of the game. 3 points but I am still worried. YNWA.
L
lfcgirl123 • 8 points
Why are people always negative even when we win. The point of the matter is we are the only team to go to the stadium of light and win this season even city and arsenal didn’t do it so credit were credit is due
B
BotBoyTheRed • 12 points
Arsenal and City have not won there this season – no team is cleaning up there. Give the players a break, none of them have let us down. Salah and Konate are recently bereaved, Endo looks like he’s badly hurt himself making an important clearance, can at least make a bit of effort to get behind them
Y
yagorenima • -1 points
I’m not talking about cleaning up Sunderland, I’m talking about after we scored we invited all the pressure back on to us, it’s a symptom of the season and the backline did really well keeping a clean sheet, but it can’t be denied that this has caused us so many dropped points and it could have again tonight.
O
Old_Prune3850 • 6 points
Literally no other team has won there this season. No team has cleaned up there. Sometimes you just have to grind out an away win. We deserved to win, we did win, we move on.
K
kal14144 • 8 points
Gakpo played well today.
F
Far_Isopod_906 • -2 points
He did? Are you sure you were watching the right player? It was Grav, not Gakpo.
K
kal14144 • 2 points
Grav was mostly invisible today. Gakpo actually did some creating.
O
Odd_Musician_1368 • 2 points
Interesting take, I’m so frustrated with Gakpo this season (and tonight). He’s too one dimensional. Miles off the Mane / Diaz levels and it’s showing big time.
Y
yagorenima • -4 points
Ah mate everyone gets the goldfish memory as soon as we win a game. It’s good to win and still see what can be improved. I’m happy with the 3 points, but still worrying signs. Scoring a goal and completely dying off has caused us so much points dropped this season and Sunderland were invited on to us again but couldn’t score. Also with Gakpo I have no words man that’s your opinion.
K
kal14144 • 4 points
I by no means think he’s been great all season but he had a good game today. Not sure what you were watching but he was good today. Dribbled well completed most of his passes set up a few chances was by no means bad today.
L
landrac98 • 1 points
My heart would be a lot happier if the lads would do a better job of putting shots on frame, rather than high, or wide. Force a save more often. Win is a win, though. Hooray for that!
F
fatwaterbearer • 6 points
I’m happy that we won but I don’t get how and why we suddenly lose the momentum right after scoring. It’s like we score and suddenly the whole game goes on in our box.

Anyone else ever think that Joe Gomez looks like he should be releasing a seminal, instant classic, soul album? The uninitiated might call it ‘retro soul’, but this is no pastiche. Think Curtis Mayfield meets Shuggie Otis, with the Brooklyn Soul Revival production nous of Gabriel Roth and Daptone Records. A meisterwerk. A ‘one-and-done’, no need for a follow up. A pure mic drop with a fat full stop. Nothing more to say. What a player 🔥 https://preview.redd.it/9xl8win5xxig1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=abaff60c3e4ea233f1020c28e8f681023949d011
