The recent surge in interest around Kurt Cobain can be attributed to new evidence suggesting that his death may have been the result of homicide rather than suicide. A report has emerged from an unknown source that claims to present this new evidence, stimulating curiosity and prompting a high volume of searches as people seek more information about this controversial claim.

Additionally, a forensic specialist has publicly stated that Cobain’s death was a homicide, which has led to disputes from the Seattle Police Department, further fueling the discussion. This ongoing investigation and the conflicting narratives contribute significantly to the current public interest in Cobain.

Alongside these developments, a resurgence of interest in Cobain’s life and philosophy has been sparked by a recent quote shared from him stating, “I’d rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not.” This quote resonates with audiences and encourages further exploration of his life and legacy, coinciding with the heightened search activity.

Nostalgia is no longer a feeling but a personality for a lot of them, and they learned it all from pretending to be older on subs like this or from nostalgia bait influencers.

Nostalgia bait influencers is a combination of words I have never seen.

The worst part is it’s actually a really apt description of an actual niche 😅

“Sure am glad I’m not a Boomer losing my shit over a Facebook post that’s just ‘who remembers when Mother used to boil the kettle?” -a 35 year old, shortly before spending a couple hours scrolling TikTok montages of old pics of Blockbusters, TVs with integrated VCRs, and Squeeze Pops set to Scizzie – Aquatic Ambience

*Pretending to be older so they can be cool (and cultured), but also of the opinion that people older than them are not cool. Cool.

We really need to bring back the term. It drives crazy how much these “influencers” get a free pass.

I couldn’t imagine, back in the day, pretending to be older on a dating profile.

I was born in 78. I was 11 at the turn of the decade. I consider myself a kid of both the 80s and 90s as I was pretty immature in my early teens lol.
P

I consider myself an 80’s kid and a 90’s teen/young adult.
F

Exactly this. Was a kid in the 80s, a teen in the 90s and a young adult in the 2000s.

81. I think of myself as an 80s kid. So I guess I’m in a similar boat where the 90s was still me as a kid, but it doesn’t feel apt to say I was a 90a kid.

When I was in college and my upperclassmen friends were doing 80s nostalgia, I said “I was only a child then, I wasn’t a teen until the 90s” and I swear they felt like they aged ten years on the spot. 😅

Its awesome being born in 77 with the way the math works out. I turned 13 in 1990. So, I was a kid in the 80s. Then in 1990 turned 13 and went into 8th grade. So literally a teen in the 90s. Then 23 in 2000. So my young adulthood was at the turn of the century. 80s kid, 90s teen, adulthood in the 2000s. Kinda neat.
E
EctoRiddler • 17 points
Yep. Kind of the same. I was a young adult during 9/11. Glad I wasn’t a kid back then. I feel like 9/11 took away the innocence of a lot of young people as we went right into a war and politics got ratcheted up and we never really recovered. The 90s were the last time in my opinion that kids could just be kids. With the 2000s also came technology blowing up faster than anybody could catch up with. I know people say this all the time about the good old days but the 80s and 90s were just a simpler time.
N
nochumplovesucka__ • 8 points
Agreed with all of this. Feels like the whole world changed when the century did.
G
Grundle95 • 3 points
I got married just before 9/11 so there was a pretty clear break around that time between having been a kid and known the world one way, and being an adult with the world another way for me
S

Not really. In the 80’s we had the threat still of the Cold War. Nuclear holocaust was always on agenda, space shuttle challenger, gulf war fast moving with game systems, tv tech, cable tech, satellite tech, vcr, vhs, satanic panic, missing kids news stories blaring on news, aids (thinking of you got bit my a mosquito, accidentally touched salvia ir blood, sat in a toliet seat, went to the hospital you’d get it) and so much more.80’s had so much trauma all while a lot of parents sent their kids out and said have fun with out monitoring them. 90’s 90’s were better but still pretty crappy. If you were a kid of a factory worker then NAFTA and a lot factories closed and moved out of country. The Clinton scandal where parents tried to avoid explaining, internet and more gaming systems, cell phones, the threat of terrorism constantly even before 9/11. My local court house was bombed and the wTC was bombed before 9/11, anthrax, people going postal at their jobs, but yeah internet changed everything in the 90’s you weren’t a kid anymore once you got it… the sites you could go on shock 😳, chat rooms where lots nasty stuff happened or people met and happened and I’m going to say way more than now, the access to the world and fast flying propaganda and info, 90’s was no charm bucket either No decade is. We tend to remember the good stuff and forget the bad. 80’s and 90’s were a toxic cess pool. By the way 78 Xennial

Same. But also kinda scary. 9/11 especially. Can barely remember that year. Might have been drinking a lot. Kind like after November of 2024. For some reason

I used to hoard my flintstones vitamins in my room and then eat a bunch of them at once. I loved how they tasted. My mom was horrified when she realized what I was doing (I was probably 5). Born in ‘82.

Same year here, i consider myself a 80’s kid and a 90’s teen. Loved it all. Very lucky.

Same. My spouse and I are the same age and they insist we’re Gen x and I guess technically we are but I feel more like a Millennial than gen x
E
EctoRiddler • 2 points
I know we are technically Gen X, but so is somebody born in 1965
A

Right, and hell I don’t even remember much of the 80’s except the tv shows I watched and toys I played with. I didn’t even see the Challenger explosion on tv. I remember someone told me “You must have cause they showed it in school”. But maybe my 1st grade teacher didn’t show it? Cause I was in 1st grade when it happened. I feel I would have remembered something that significant.
E
EctoRiddler • 1 points

Same. 70s baby 80s kid 90s teen 00s young adult 10s full adult 20s middle age Uh, I don’t like this direction
D
Drunk_Pilgrim • 1 points
Same. We were the youngest of the cousins so we got to experience being a kid in the 80s but also seeing teenagers in the 80s. People don’t realize that an oldest child has a much different experience than the youngest and how they see the world. The little brother/sister is much different than the older brother/sister even though you are the same age.

I’m old enough and young enough to know kids who liked Power Rangers and be annoyed because it was a Voltron rip off
