How is curling scored? The team with the stone closest to the center is awarded one point. That team also scores a point for each additional stone that is closer to the center than their opponent's stones. No points are awarded for stones outside the house.

Both teams enter each end with a chance to score, but only one team can score per end. The team with the stone closest to the center of the house, known as the button, scores a point after each end and also scores one additional point for every stone closer to the button than their opponent's closest stone.

The team without the last stone advantage will start with a centre guard. When the power play is called, pre-placed stones will be moved out to one of the sides, with one placed as a corner guard and a stone behind it, with the back of the stone against the tee line – opening up space down the centre of the sheet.

Mixed doubles has the same scoring but it's shorter and can be more chaotic as there are only two players, eight ends and five stones per team in each end. There are also pre-placed stones and teams are prohibited from knocking out any stones from play until partway through the end.
