I love KJ, but a big part of this year’s revelation is having a 4 who can shoot somewhat reliably. This team has like, three unsung heroes in Council, White, and Tiller.

Until today, and really since the UNC game, Tiller hasn’t done fuck all from outside. Literally hasn’t hit a thing since early Dec. You are out of your mind if you don’t think KJ on this roster is a massive boost. He doesn’t even have to start, or could have started the non con. But a switchable big that could spell the bigs is quite literally our missing piece right now.

KJ was a solid defender and an average rebounder while being undersized for his position. I would take KJ on this roster in a heartbeat, but Tiller opens things up by simply existing. Opposing defenses would *saaag* off KJ and absolutely wreck our spacing. On the whole, our defense is better than our offense right now. Self just needs to stop switching every little thing.

Lol sorry. That’s what I’m saying, going from 0 to 1 playable bigs off the bench at this point in the season would undoubtedly be an improvement for us imo. Whether Self would have ever moved on from KJ as a starter or whatever is a valid question. But I still think we’d be better overall with another playable body. That’s all I was saying. I’m well aware of KJs faults and not looking to rehash team makeup the last two years. Just enjoying this team, and regardless of anything else the last few years, KJ had heart. Wore the jersey with pride. He’d be the one from last year that has a spot on basically any KU roster imo.

All good. Honestly, I think Bidunga is so good at defending on the perimeter, it could be almost any other kind of big body at this point that isn’t as raw as Mbiya. We’re missing that Tarik Black or Jamari Traylor kinda reserve that can soak up minutes that we usually have stashed somewhere on the bench.
