The topic of “Wake County Schools” is trending due to recent weather-related events that have led to school closures. On January 28, concerns about black ice prompted local authorities to take precautionary measures, resulting in the closure of schools in the Wake County area. This unexpected closure likely drove a significant increase in search interest as parents, students, and community members sought information about the status of schools and any potential delays.

Additionally, a news report highlighted the broader context of school closings and delays throughout North Carolina, which included Wake County. This coverage would have heightened interest among those specifically concerned about Wake County Schools, as families wanted to stay informed about their local education institutions during inclement weather.

Furthermore, Wake County also announced the closure of a shelter at Southeast Raleigh Magnet High School, which may have drawn attention to the schools have been involved in community support efforts amidst these adverse weather conditions. The cumulative effect of these announcements contributed to over 20,000 searches regarding Wake County Schools as individuals sought clarity on the operational status of schools in the area.

A child should never be a cure for a parents depression. Don’t put that burden on a child. They are a person in their own right.

Therapist here! can confirm human baby is not an evidence based treatment for depression.

Even better, go to your local humane society and foster kittens. All the kittens, none of the 20 year responsibilities.

If he has blatantly admitted that he is depressed, then he needs to address this in therapy and with a psychiatrist. He needs professional help for depression. Professional help from folks who have a decade or more experience and expertise. Because a baby has neither of those, a baby is not the right answer to treat his mental health. Period.

>Because a baby has neither of those, a baby is not the right answer to treat his mental health. Period. Babies are kinda risk factor for making depression *worse.* I love my kid, but the 4th trimester kicked *my* ass. I don’t know of many good parents who didn’t have at least a little mental anguish when baby arrived.
S
sofieksj • 1 points
This right here. I had only been suicidal once before in my life but after my second I wanted to die big time. And I was already on medication! And going through that takes so much away from you as the parent, your newborn, and any older children!
G
gampsandtatters • 1 points
Exactly! PPD largely affects birthgivers, but 15% of coparents also experience a form of PPMD, and that number is likely underestimated due to it being under reported. A baby will absolutely not fix his mental health and could make it worse. Dude **really** needs a reality check.
S
SeriousEye5864 • 1 points
God, the age gap checks out. Please don’t get pregnant. He’s depressed because he’s middle aged and has decided a baby is the fix because then you’ll be more trapped than you already are. There’s a reason he got a 23 year old pregnant at almost 40. There won’t be any travel, there won’t be any MAs, there won’t be any books. If you do have another baby and stay with him, don’t be shocked when he starts demanding baby number three the minute you start getting some independence back.

Yes because he realized that you will still be A Ok without him with just one child. Pls listen to your gut, especially if you bounced back after your first. Evil men seem to see a woman get back to herself after having a baby and want to do it again. If we could hear some men’s thoughts, we would probably be horrified.

you’re spot on. age certainly doesn’t mean maturity and this is proving it

Yep, first thing I thought. He’s feeling like it’s the end of the line for him, but that’s not your problem to deal with
G
greyphoenix00 • 1 points
complementary and not contradictory bonus: his age could mean he’s having a midlife crisis and even if not actively trying to trap OP, he thinks a child or more children will keep him young and fulfill him. lots of reasons he has different goals and sees OP as the solution. Gross!
S
somecleverchaos • 1 points
agreed. OP just found herself again and he may be getting insecure. And yes, some men feel that you are less likely to leave when you have multiple kids. I don’t really care about the man, you are doing all the child raising and neuro divergent kids demand a little more, you have every right not to want another with proof that if clearly he is not helping with one kid, what about 2
M
Miss_Dark_Splatoon • 1 points
Exactly, loser with no self esteem trying to control young woman, classic
G
Glopresti95 • 1 points
OP dont necessarily blame his age. My husband and I have a 15 year ago gap also and I had a rough 1st pregnancy. I’ve vocalized that idk if I can do it again or want to. I’m doing my MA too and love travel. My husband did not get upset when I told him this. Your husband should seek therapy or possibly couples therapy so you can both understand where the other is coming from
L
Lamiaceae_ • 1 points
Thank you for this. People love to jump on age gaps on these posts like it’s the root of every problem a couple like this has, when… it’s really not. My husband is 13 years older than me and would not be upset with me if we were in the OP’s position. The OP’s husband needs therapy and to work on himself.

Yes, thank you. Reddit loves to hate on age gap relationships.

I know! It’s so ridiculous. As if everything is black and white. Some of the big age gab relationships I know are the best ones because the two people chose each other despite society telling them that they have to stick to an age category.

So a 38 year old man got a 23 year old pregnant… I don’t mean to jump immediately to the age gap thing but a nearly-40 year old and someone freshly out of college? That gives me pause. Does your husband manipulate you like this emotionally often?
I
Impulsive_Thoughts98 • 1 points
I Always have this belief old men rob women’s youth with the false narrative of “older and more secure men are better than ones your own age.” The life style wants and needs just hardly seem to match with such big age gaps. And one’s dreams are usually sacrificed due to the other partners aging out of certain life stages and events. I have been there myself.
S
stupidddpissbaby • 1 points
i was once in a 20 year age gap relationship and let me tell you. i highly doubt a woman his age would’ve given him the time of day because he NEEDED someone to manipulate, someone younger that didn’t know any better. hell my frontal lobe wasn’t even fully developed yet. it was very telling after i got out of that relationship that him dating younger women was a pattern for a reason.

right? fucking ew. OP you were groomed and i’m sorry

An age gap, especially over 21 doesn’t automatically mean groomed. Don’t be ignorant.

She wasn’t groomed. She’s an adult and can make her own decisions.
M
monicasm • 1 points
True but she was 22 or 23 when she got pregnant and likely much younger when they started dating. She’s definitely at the least being baby trapped.
M
mangorain4 • 1 points
I feel like folks are young or age gap themselves when they say stuff like that
N
NyxHemera45 • 1 points
Yep I was groomed while 18 but still in high school and the excuse my ex always gave was but you were 18 I would never date a 17 year old when literally they dated me the month I turned 18. I could have been a June baby and been 17 But I just happen to be March. Groomers are going to groom. “Adults” can be groomed. A lot of 20 year olds don’t even deal with their own health insurance.
S
Sassy-Me86 • 1 points
18 is far different than someone that’s 23 with life experience. Obviously that I agree with.
L
lawfulrofl • 1 points
Nah, you don’t get it. When you’re 22 and dating someone in their 30s or 40s, you just think, “Oh! We have so much in common. This is great.” Then when you’re in your 30s and have actually matured, you realize that all you had in common with that man was immaturity. You grow up, learn how the world and life really works and then you realize, “Holy shit, a man who is 40 years old should NOT being living like someone who is 22 years old.”
M
mangorain4 • 1 points
YES this exactly. I dated a 27 year old when I was 19 and once I hit 27 I realized how gross that was lol. the relationship was exactly as expected

NyxHemera45 • 1 points
You must not know a lot of 23-year-olds, I work with them everyday a lot of them have no real life experience

He wants a “normal” kid without all the work. A “do-over” to “correct” his “mistake”. Sorry, but you got suckered by an old loser man who took advantage of your early 20s.
L
Living-Tiger3448 • 1 points
I’m also concerned he’s gonna leave her for another young woman so he can have more kids
R
Remote-Pear60 • 1 points
That might actually work out better for her. Then he won’t steal her earning power in a divorce; he’ll have to pay child support; and, she gets her independence back. Since she’s carrying all the load on her own anyway, easier to worry only about her child who is dependent on her and is hers anyway than have to deal also with carrying this old man baby on her back too.
L
Living-Tiger3448 • 1 points
Yeah it really depends how shady he is. If he’s well off, this will work in his favor. If he’s not or is hiding money, it might not. He could also get 50% custody depending on their state, unless he doesn’t want it. It might seem like jumping the gun but she should consult a lawyer just to understand what could happen if they get divorced
P
Pinkgirl0825 • 1 points
This is why many women stay in abusive and neglectful marriages/situations. To my knowledge, 50-50 is pretty much the default in terms of custody unless one parent doesn’t want it and or you can prove abuse towards a child. Sadly many family courts and judges absolutely not care about abuse towards Mom even with irrefutable evidence he will still granted 50-50 custody as they do not see abuse to Mom as abuse to One of my good friends finally left her ex ex-husband after he beat her so bad he put her into a 4 day coma. She fought him tooth and nail for full custody and despite the Mount Everest size evidence she had he abused her, the end result was still 50-50 custody because he had never directly abused the kids. He had also isolated her states away from her family and was told she was not able to move more than 25 miles from him with the kids per the state law. And the real kicker? After she finally left him, she went back to school and got a really good job making more than him and now she pays HIM child’s support…. So messed up. He threatened her all the time to harm/kill the children when he has them if she ever dates someone else or “disobeys him“. And I honestly do not doubt that he would and neither does she. It’s a really messed up situation. She always says has she known would go down like this, she would have just stayed with him because now she is constantly worried he is going to kill the children to get back at her and at least when she was with him and there he left the kids alone and put all of his abusive behavior towards her. It’s why I always roll my eyes whenever I see a post on Reddit regarding abusive situation and the answers are always “just leave “. When you share a child with someone, you really can’t just “leave” due to custody laws and relocation laws as well. People mistakenly believe that if you have evidence of abuse towards yourself that the other parent won’t be granted custody and you can leave as you want, but this is sadly not true at all. People also think that if there is no custody order in place, you can just up and take your child wherever you please, which is true, but people forget that the other parent has a plethora of legal options to force a child back to wherever they are and it could look really bad on the parent that left with the child in terms of custody down the line as judges tend to look down upon taking a child from the other parent. Having children with the wrong person can absolutely trap you for decades
