The first episode of this and It’s Not Like That open to the same song. Not super interesting but I watched them back to back and thought it was weird

We left this playing for a bit after the football game and I looked up from my phone to watch a “car chase” scene that was aired with zero music, rapid editing, and climaxed with a car literally driving up 3 or 4 levels of a parking garage with nobody following it. They showed basically the whole drive up the parking garage and it had zero drama. An absolute disaster of editing and vision. In fairness we’d just watched One Battle After Another and the climactic car-chase in that movie is very minimal in action but extraordinarily tense and well-shot.

Odd to have a series when they just had the movie a few years ago…

Sounds a bit like the Korean film Memoir of a Murderer.
B

I think u got downvote cuz they think you mean memories of murder lol
L

Actually he made no mistake. Memoir of a murderer is a korean movie with a similar premise

Was this dialogue really the end of the episode. It just felt abrupt after coming out of commercial. Like that’s it? >!The daughter says, “I was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.” !< >!Angelo “Earl Hanckock has been released from prison”.!< >!daughter “wait, do they think he’s trying to kill me?”.!< Then a montage of upcoming episodes after her last word.

We liked it…engaged us right away. Had a Batman sort of vibe to it, initially, as we were drawn into his two worlds. It could become a little hard (emotionally) to watch as the disease progresses. It’s a very real fear for many of us. And like another person, I wonder how long we can expect the show to continue. Even though people can live with it for years, I would think Angelo’s particular house of cards would tumble pretty quickly.

I was a television extra in the last 5 minutes sequence

I’m intrigued. I like the premise and I think it’s interesting. Definitely will give it another shot tomorrow and see where it goes.

FOX cut the show ten minutes early lmao. It came back from commercial with daughter in hospital saying “I was just in wrong place at wrong time” and cut abruptly to scenes of future episodes. Terrible
H

Yea, mine did too. I am in California, I wonder if it was an issue because football ran late.
J
jingojangoh • 2 points
That’s what I was thinking, but wouldn’t they account for that? Lol you’d think so. The next program after was some old infomercial or something. So, they didn’t have to make sure next show was on time.

I really wanted to like this, but it’s not a new idea. Liam and Michael Keaton have done the exact same idea. Patrick is a good actor and Micheal is finally in the boss role after shining shoes forever. It’s just simple and shallow. All the baddies driving obvious cars and predictable. One and done for me.

It’s actually about the same story, but they made it in a serie now. The movie was also based by the Belgian movie De zaak Alzheimer (great movie) which was also based by the book De zaak Alzheimer.

Sounds a bit like “Knox Goes Away”. Watched that cause I was interested to see Michael Keaton’s directorial debut. Pretty decent, with some sketchy acting from the female police detective.

I’m struggling to see how you could drag out the premise of a killer having Alzheimer’s and losing his mind for more than a season.

Alzheimer’s is not quick to kill. It can go on for years.

It’s based on a Belgian film which makes sense, the premise is probably more suited to a contained runtime. Also happy cake day!
E
Eskimo_cc • 2 points
The Belgian film is also based on the book with the same name de zaak alzheimer.

Definitely see that too. It sounds like a neat premise, and you could go into how people are treated when they have dementia and bring awareness to the horror of the disease (à la Everywhere at the End of Time). But because it’s a main channel tv-show, it probably won’t take that path, and repeat the same story beats for most of the episodes.

I’m assuming every once in a while he shoots the wrong person or like a tree or something.

Awesome comment. Did not expect this and laughed way too hard at this. Thanks, internet stranger.
