Anyone know how they decided what was considered local? I’m in San Diego and originally it said we would be considered local and now it doesn’t. I am only 30 minutes from where they will be doing the surfing and I’m not considered local, but Oklahoma and San Bernardino are.

For California, it’s any county that are considered the greater Los Angeles Area. So LA, Orange, Ventura, Riverside, and San Bernardino. Having never been to Oklahoma, I’m assuming the 3 counties qualified for the local pre-sale are part of the great Oklahoma City metro area

Same problem here. I did see a captcha briefly pop up under the login, but then it immediately tries to login without giving a chance to check it off. Then it gives the “unexpected error” and to go back and try again. Now I don’t see a captcha at all, but still does the same error loop.

I just completed it with no issues but the first time I was doing something in another tab and it essentially timed out my spot so I had to restart. This time I kept the page open with no distractions and made it through fine. Probably less competition now.

After getting kicked out a couple of times I was able to register. I logged out and somehow it took me straight to the registration page again so I helped a few family and friends with registering out having to wait in the waiting room.

I feel bad for non local Americans because they have to compete with the rest of the world. I’m still shocked that I’m counted as a local even though I’m an hour away. I got to tell all my family members to register! I’ve been wanting to go to the Olympics since I was a toddler!

That happened to me when I was using my phone. I moved over to a tablet and there is a red line that reads do not refresh or close this page. So if you’re on your phone you are out of luck

It finally worked for me. Once I created a profile, it was circling for an hour and I finally just hit the refresh button on my browser and it worked for me. From the terms: “WINNERS WILL BE SELECTED AT RANDOM. ODDS OF WINNING DEPEND ON THE NUMBER OF ELIGIBLE DRAW PARTICIPANTS AND AVAILABLE TIMESLOTS” So it truly is random, which will suck because almost certainly people are going to figure out how to get as many tickets as possible for reselling. I don’t understand for a event this size they couldn’t incorporate a drivers license verification system or something to limit people making multiple accounts. I don’t trust them to catch people doing this.
