Controversial opinion: Ava will end up being the points leader for Iowa in this game over Taylor. Purdue may adjust and the paint may open back up. Hope I’m wrong though.

64 percent field goal shooting by hawks and 67 percent from 3. 15-13 Iowa rebound advantage. Very apparent we are missing Hannah . Only one offensive board . 24-10 advantage points in the paint. Turnovers each team with 6 and same points off them. Very slight bench points advantage for hawks . Feels like we should be up more points. With Ava. Only playing 11 minutes need to get Ava going more and get chat more shots to further extend and than maybe give her rest .

Thank god our guards showed up and we got up early in the paint before they adjusted. Guards *have* to stay hot, but I think our defense could win this outright.

Some creative lineups by necessity that have led to some uneven minutes. Overall, as good as a Hawk fan could hope for. Hayes did the same thing of not trying to block a drive toward the end there as we need her. All four players that have played the 4 or 5 for iowa have 2 fouls at half. Not ideal. Hope the Hawks can keep the energy up keep a comfortable lead so Kylie and Chat can get a little bit of rest. Callie can spell some minutes if need be. If all goes really well, maybe even Kennise.

I was worried we were going to have to game manage more with the fouls, but we’ve got wiggle room as long as there are no ref shenanigans at the start of the 3rd quarter. Ava has been neutralized since the opening punishment she delivered. But still on track for a double-double and 3rd and 4th quarters are when she kills games on her own. Strem 7-8 and 5-5 from three. Gotta get Chat back in form. Nice to see a few more meaningful minutes for Mallegni, Hays, and Addie to find some flow without being quick-yanked for mistakes.
