So breaking down whats left and what Americas best chances going forward are imo. Jordan Stolz I think wins both the 1500 and Mass start dudes been unstoppable. I think Elena Meyers Taylor and Kailey Humphries wins in 2 woman bobsled. That one’s going to be damn close. This one will get some flak probably but I like both hockeys teams to win gold. The men both Canada and USA have been dominant but I still dont trust Jordan Binnington and I feel that will be the difference. Neither goalies have been tested but I trust Connor Hellebuyke more. The ladies I am so nervous about. They have a dominant team but its still Canada and its the Olympics but feel the best I have about them to win. The rest no idea. Women’s curling team could get to the medal round could lose their first matchup in the quarterfinals. Shifrin depends which version shows up the real one or the faux one we’ve dealt with mostly in the Olympics

My shitty comparison about Amber’s situation: The short program is the multiple choice test, the free program is the essay/oral exam. You have to pass the multiple choice test to even attend the next phase, the essay/oral exam. And she failed the multiple choice test. The required element is a triple, she only did a double > invalid element > 0 points. Can’t do anything about that she already knew that. You can’t undid that or fix that with another jump in the short program.

Sad, I am sad. I wanted a glorious moment on the ice for an American and no more meltdowns. I hate it, I dont want more of that! Just triumphs please! What a rough games. I’m soooooo sad for Amber, she’s so devastated bc a clean program was RIGHT THERE. Alyssa was solid though and her headspace needs to be studied, she has such a positive attitude and mindset!!! I’m very proud of her. Japanese skaters are insanely talented, effortless and consistent. Will be excited to see their free skates and would not be surprised by several medals. Bumsville for Team USA though. Really wanted some figure skating happiness. Maybe Thursday!

I know they are banned for good reason, but Russia not being involved in this Winter Olympics kind of exposes how little depth some of these Winter sports have in terms of countries competing for podium spots.

Russia is competing under the team name ‘AIN’. They are not banned, just their flag, official “Russia” team name, national anthem etc are banned. Also a bunch of russian athletes are competing for other countries. So ironically your comment is just exposing Russia lol. Once they had to stop doping, their dominance / presence diminished to the point people don’t even realize they’re there.

to be fair they are not allowed to compete in other international competitions and it is pretty tough to compete when you haven’t practiced the nerves of a competition
