The ending is both heartwarming and wtf. To see the bond between Nigel and the Jays is wonderful, then it’s this big reveal that the whole damn thing is a promotion for cycle 25. Tyra also refused to speak about her actions towards Jay Manuel when he wanted to leave, convinced him to stay on for another year just to fire him. She was like “no im not going to talk about that” then went onto blame the network later on. It was dumb.

Being a speech therapist and former lover of this show, my heart BROKE seeing that’s what happened. Their friendship truly was a great part of the show, and you can tell how much they care for each other, time aside. I feel like Miss J said it best – “she hasn’t seen me…yet”. I think we have all waited with bated breath for Tyra to speak, but she didn’t give us anything…yet (and never will).

The Js made the show and Nigel was the sex appeal at the time. Production and the network jumped the shark when they replaced them with the social media guy, the bald creative director and Rob. If they kept Nole and Emperess Mini as the stylist, they would’ve been even better. I’m glad they were still close.

It’s always been my theory that whatever pressure Tyra believed the network was putting on for her to fire them was actually pressure to bully them into accepting a lowball contract renewal and she would rather people think she fired them at someone else’s direction than admit she tried and failed at getting them to accept a bad offer.

When Miss Jay said Tyra hadn’t visited him (yet), I was disappointed, but I also read that as potential shame. Like, “I really messed up with this person. I reached out because I still care, but are they still mad? Would they even want to see me for real? Will my trying make things worse?” Not saying that it’s the right thing to do, but the situation has to be a little awkward. I hope she does go see Miss Jay (and call Mr. Jay like she said she should).
