We have footage of them retaliating against legal protestors. If ICE kidnapping children, mistreating children, using them as hostages. There is no need to compare them to foreign organizations. The United States has plenty of home-grown ones to use, such as the KKK and the slave catchers of the civil war. The United States also inspired the Holocaust with our genocide of the natives and with Jim Crow laws. All these comparisons to foreign organizations make it sound like this is something abnormal to come out of the United States but the truth is this rot has always been here and it runs so deep I don’t think we can simply reform our way out of it. If we snapped our fingers and it was suddenly 2012 again that rot would still be there and it would manifest again, and if we don’t cut out that rot when we have the chance it will just come back in a generation. Edit: the same goes for police crackdowns on protests. No need to compare us to Iran or China, just look back to the civil rights movement (a lot of those racists yelling at kids in those photos are still alive and still vote, btw) or the labor movement, where companies hired literal mercenaries to kill striking workers. America has always been a violent, sick police state. “A peoples history of the United States” should be required reading, especially for progressives.

Remember [Cory Booker](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cory_Booker#U.S._Senate)? He was *dead set* on helping get Healthcare For All to the American people… until he got his senate seat, and *on top of that* he took a healthy amount of money from the health care industries in the week up to him being sworn in. That one stung & hurt *a lot*. Please don’t get me wrong, I’ve never voted for the GOP. It’s just I’m *far more aware* of the failing of the Democratic Party than some people are comfortable with.

The Bill of Rights is worthless when the Executive Branch refuses to enforce it. The Justice Department no longer exists to serve the people. It serves one man and does not prosecute or investigate obvious crimes that are inconvenient to their Master, such as the Renee Goode assassination. Americans of color are no longer protected by the Equal Rights Amendment. They must carry citizenship papers, and even that is worthless to the Brownshirts, such as this case. Yes, this is the end of the USA experiment and it only took one man to bring it down.
