Terry Pegula has recently generated significant search interest due to his public statements regarding the Buffalo Bills, specifically concerning the draft decisions made by the team’s coaching staff. In a recent ESPN article, Pegula mentioned that coaches were influential in selecting player Keon Coleman, which sparked curiosity about the inner workings and decision-making processes of the organization.

Additionally, there are reports of Pegula firing head coach Sean McDermott, a move that typically garners extensive attention in the NFL community. This action, if confirmed, would represent a major shakeup in the team’s leadership, prompting fans and analysts to seek more information on the implications for the Bills’ future.

Furthermore, Pegula’s press conference marked his first time addressing questions in over five years, drawing added attention as it offered a rare opportunity for the public to hear directly from the owner. This combination of a high-profile coaching change and a long-anticipated public appearance has resulted in a surge of interest, driving search volumes well above 20,000.

I feel bad for whichever Buffalo staff members are gonna have to do damage control after this press conference. That’s such an insane thing to say about a guy that’s still on your active roster.
M
Markbro89 • 342 points
If I was that staff member, I’d be sitting next to Keon on that bus.
O
overthemountain • 290 points
Pretty sure Keon is under the bus.

*slaps side of bus* “This bad boy can run over so many subordinates”
R
ronaldo119 • 126 points
And also… Keon is serviceable. He’s not been great and definitely would’ve hoped for more but busts happen and there’s way more bigger busts than a 2nd round WR with 8 touchdowns

I think a lot of people are forgetting that the 2024 receiver class was very top heavy and it’s not looking like a lot of standout talent was available at that spot. Sure, with hindsight, we can see that McConkey turned out good, but it’s not like there were other receivers drafted in the 2nd and 3rd rounds that were ranked ahead of Coleman going into the draft and obviously outperformed him since.
B
BrotherlyShove791 • 24 points
Right up there with Woody Johnson throwing Justin Fields under the bus earlier this season.
M
mbrancato157 • 12,806 points
Unreal to say this about a player still on the roster lol
M
mr_showboat • 3,648 points
I was about to say, I’m sure Keon feels great to hear nobody still there wanted him.
W
WhatUpMilkMan • 1,809 points
Also even if you’re willing to be harsh and throw away any kind of relationship, this can’t help his trade value. A totally foreseeable disaster from one of the worst owners in sports. McDermott covered for a lot. Edit: I understand Keon had little trade value to begin with. That’s not how a front office should operate, from either a business or personal standpoint.

They saw what the Warriors are doing with Kuminga and thought why not us too

Just came here from that thread lol

McDermott was doing the Tomlin method of managing Divas except to his bosses instead of WRs.
T
tomdawg0022 • 43 points
Sometimes you just gotta manage up!
B
breesyroux • 190 points
Yeah this destroys his trade value. Now they’ll probably only get a conditional 7th instead of a conditional 6th. Or a 4th from Dallas
_
_Damien_X • 73 points
Conditional fourth, thank you very much!
N
NoveltyAccountHater • 32 points
Coleman’s a 30 Y/G type WR when he’s the a top 3 target from a QB one season removed from being MVP. Everyone knows this, so he doesn’t start with significant trade value. The problem with this statement is that right now he’s under contract for two more years, still quite young (can improve) and around 3 on their WR depth chart. Why piss off your own guy on a nearly all guaranteed contract? Especially when there’s video of your GM saying he was [glad he ran slow at the combine as it will help us get him.](https://bsky.app/profile/billym91.bsky.social/post/3mcwyhh3up22t)
S
sharksnrec • 51 points
I mean, did he have any trade value at all to begin with? This is absolutely a dude who just gets cut.
S
SmokedGoooda • 22 points
Honestly thought he’d likely end up being cut this offseason even before today
G
GetsThruBuckner • 158 points
Gotta be some special ass to be a bust WR on a team with an elite QB
C
Crashhh_96 • 134 points
He hasn’t been great, but this next year is make-or-break for him. People were calling Davante Adams a bust after his second season and he turned into one of the best WRs in the league. Not saying that Coleman is going to be Davante Adams good, but there’s still time for him to turn it around.
S
supjer • 105 points
At least Adams showed up to team meetings
N
nudiecale • 26 points
Yeah, was Adams ever a healthy scratch?
B
Bonesaw85 • 52 points
No. His problem his second year was with drops. He was getting open and then dropping the passes. He cleaned up the drops his third year
N
No_Grocery_9280 • 13 points
Once again, work ethic seems to be the key trait to success.
S
ShortFee2578 • 14 points
So *that’s* my problem!!! Seems like a lot of work, though. Pass
O
Odd_Hair3829 • 130 points
KC made himself the problem on and off the field
B
BTWillie • 246 points
It is one thing for us fans to harp on him, but hearing it from your employer is something entirely different.
R
Rlccm • 61 points
I mean, an incredibly, ridiculously, stupidly, unprofessional employer, but that’s sports
I
IWasRightOnce • 1,026 points
“What he say ‘fuck me’ for?”
T
TheHoundofUlster • 447 points
I mean, Keon (Gestures broadly at his performance last season).
A
awfuckthisshit • 253 points
It takes a lot of work to get suspended by your own team twice
W
w0nderbrad • 93 points
“What are they gonna do? Not play me?” – dude who got benched for repeatedly being late to meetings
S
Skank_hunt42 • 201 points
The pick directly after Keon was Ladd McConkey. Ladd had more receptions, yards, and TDs in his rookie year than Keon has had in 2 years….
Z
zenlume • 129 points
More than one receiver was drafted before him that has done less tho and it’s not the first time that’s happened. Puka was a 5th round pick in 2023. 49ers drafted Ricky Pearsall and Panthers drafted Xavier Legette ahead of Ladd.
S
Skank_hunt42 • 97 points
> More than one receiver was drafted before him that has done less tho and it’s not the first time that’s happened It makes me so happy that the Eagles drafted Jalen Reagor instead of Justin Jefferson. lol
Z
zenlume • 28 points
Yeah, you can do this with a lot of draft picks, we drafted CEH with the 32nd overall, while Jonathan Taylor was still available.
K
Kim_Jong_Teemo • 37 points
Same
R
rundy_emcee • 30 points
As Eagles fans, we generally don’t like to mess with anything inside of a timeline where we eventually won the Super Bowl, BUT STILL… Reagor over Jefferson?!?!
I
ImDebatable • 14 points
I cope with the thought that our receiving room would be worse overall if we had drafted him. We wouldn’t have traded for AJ and we wouldn’t have drafted Devonta, and we likely still would be looking for a WR2 with our terrible WR drafting assessments leading up to that pick. AJ and Devonta brought us a super bowl that I don’t know if JJ could’ve carried us to on his own.
E
eddie_the_zombie • 14 points
Even funnier that Jefferson was originally the Bills pick from the Diggs trade

Healthy Pearsall is good. Edit: just gonna preempt a rebuttal here Pearsall this season started 108, 56, 118 and then got hurt against the Jags and clearly came back before he was ready and stunk it up for 3 weeks. Then he had 96 and 85 the last two weeks of the season. Id take Pearsall over Keon 10x out of 10 on purely a “who is better per game” level.
T
TurboRuhland • 27 points
He put up 5/85 against the Bears, he was a menace that game.
J
Jazzlike-Basket-6388 • 6 points
Granted we were down to like CB17, but Pearsall was absolutely uncoverable against us.
T
The_F1rst_Rule • 28 points
Pearsall got shot and hasn’t been healthy. He consistently passes the eye test otherwise.

I’ve never seen anything like it lmao
N

My first thought, lol. Throw the guy under the bus.
O
OldOrder • 171 points
Coleman may as well pack his bags. The guy they fired is the reason he is even there and the guy they promoted never wanted him.
H
Hockeymac18 • 169 points
Except I think it’s a horse shit narrative that isn’t exactly true…it was pretty clear to outside observers that Beane was all about that pick
