The keyword “bilt 2.0” is currently trending with over 50,000 searches, primarily due to the recent launch of new Bilt credit cards that offer innovative rewards on rent and mortgage payments. This new feature is particularly appealing to renters and homeowners who are looking for ways to maximize their spending. The announcement has garnered attention as it expands the utility of credit cards in everyday financial activities.

Highlighted in several news articles, including one from The Points Guy, the new Bilt 2.0 cards are being positioned as a game-changer in the credit card market, making it possible for cardholders to earn points on significant recurring expenses that typically do not yield rewards. The potential for users to benefit from these rewards has resulted in increased consumer interest and search activity.

Additionally, comprehensive reviews, such as the one from Upgraded Points, are contributing to the buzz around the Bilt 2.0 cards. These reviews assess the value of the new offerings and provide potential users with detailed insights into the benefits, which likely encourages further inquiry and exploration of the product. The combination of product launch news and in-depth reviews has effectively driven a high volume of search interest.

Hi Richard. Just looking for clarification on the method via which rent will be drawn. Everything seems to indicate that there will be no option to have rent come from our line of credit, and it will instead be taken from our linked checking account immediately. Is this accurate, or will there be some way to opt for continuing to use credit line for rent payments?

Rich’s reply: That is correct, housing is taken directly from your linked ACH. We found this to be one of the biggest pain points and complaints in CArd 1.0 is member’s entire credit lines were used for rent.
E
EnvironmentalSky8355 • 24 points
Such BS honestly, I know i’ve seen people complaining about the rent payment maxing out their credit limits but who wasn’t paying it off? I liked not having to worry about having the money in my account and that it was just going to be there and I could pay it like any other credit card. Having the card allows you to get points on rent but it isn’t anymore a “credit card for rent”

As a follow up question: if we use the checking account to cover rent (bilt protect), do we pay the 3% fee? Or we need to cover the 3% fee with bilt cash in order to obtain the rent-points?
H
HTC864 • 6 points
Why would you have a fee if you’re paying with ACH?
R
ravenflox • 97 points
Hi, I’m confused about rent not being treated as part of the credit line. Does this mean that every time we pay rent, the amount is pulled from our bank shortly afterward, and we can no longer carry or revolve that balance?
W
weekameek • 22 points
So if rent isn’t apart of the credit line why wouldn’t i just use my debit card for rent ? Am i missing something
R
ravenflox • 13 points
Exactly my point. Makes no sense anymore.
M
mrminty • 18 points
Yeah I’m wondering the same thing. Nothing has made this clear and for every person I find saying one thing, I see someone claiming the opposite.
L
LoathingForForever12 • 15 points
It appears to still be an option…..the a standard 3% transaction fee with no ability to “waive” with Bilt cash. Thats what it says in my app right now anyway. This whole thing is a total snow job, disgusting.
M
mrminty • 7 points
Yeah, I paid rent with my CSP for 2 months to hit the 5k spend minimum for the 100k points, the fee was about 3% as well. So there’s no real benefit here, if I want to grind points and pay a 3% fee I can just do so through my CSP.

I’m a Bilt Alliance resident,. If I pay through ACH, do I still earn 250 points on every payment? My rent is 680, as I split it with roommates. $30 = 1000 points, but how does it work for me, who has less than 1,000 of rent? Is there a minimum of 250 per payment still, or is that gone?

This!!! We need more clarification on this

This is a great point. I have my Bilt Alliance property rent on autopay with the current Bilt card. If I were to do it the same way with the new 2.0 card by entering it in the payment portal for the Bilt property, would it go through as a credit charge and would there be a transaction fee like with other cards?

Will we have the ability to downgrade after one year?

Yes

Will AF be prorated or refunded if the card is downgraded after one year?
J
jsttob • 41 points
In the U.S., there is a legal requirement that the fee must be refunded if canceled within 30 days of the statement on which the fee appears. This applies to all issuers, not just Bilt/Cardless.

Does Rent Day still exist, in terms of double points up to the cap of 1,000 bonus points?

The Bilt Cash expiration policy is very strict. Can you share your rationale and strategy behind this?
E
Eggdripp • 10 points
It’s strict because they want to ensure their liabilities don’t balloon over time
E
Embarrassed_King_119 • 5 points
what is the expiration policy?
N
n0v0cane • 14 points
End of year, carryover $100. The rest expires.

I have been hearing people getting denied for the Paladium and that it’s a hard inquiry. I was told this transition would only be a soft pull. Can you clarify if it’s a hard or soft inquiry?
Y
YouThought5 • 32 points
Hard inquiry for new applicants. Soft for transition. Both can be denied tho

How does the Bilt Cash for Lyft redemption work? Are there any restrictions (set amount per month, ride, etc), or can you use bilt cash 1:1 to pay for an entire ride with no minimum or maximums?

Hello, thanks for your help in understanding the transition from Bilt 1.0 to Bilt 2.0. A few questions for you: 1. Some folks have noted that the new Bilt Card mentions that rent/mortgage payments will now come directly through the linked bank account. Does that mean the previous way I used Bilt (sending a check or ACH to my landlord/property management company, getting billed, and then paying off the statement from my bank account) will no longer be available, and I’ll have to make direct payments from my bank account? 2. Will there still be an option to have Checks mailed via USPS or Fedex? 3. I have the 1.0 card and have rent due on Feb 1. Sometimes, my landlord doesn’t cash this check for a few days. What happens to my balance if they were to cash that check on, say, February 7, after the switch-over? Will the check bounce? To whom will I owe that balance?
R
randomacquaintance • 26 points
Will there still be rent day multipliers on spend?
C

If we are paying rent directly through our bank account, aka bilt protect, do we still have to use bilt cash to earn points on rent?
C
CAMulticulturalEd • 137 points
I have a lot of questions. Number one, how dare you?
V
VortexHero • 23 points
Is there a recon number for applications? I have a pretty good credit profile and was denied for the Palladium. I know WF had one, does Cardless have one too? Also, any plans to add point pooling or transferring points to Authorized Users?
R
richklhs • 49 points
Recon: +1 (888) 533-5576
C

Why are so many existing card holders being denied? I thought this was supposed to be a seamless experience ?
M
MacMat667 • 17 points
Just called the number and they told me they couldn’t do anything. Have to wait 45 days to reapply… so there isn’t really an appeals process
V
VortexHero • 9 points
Yeah same :/ Plus I was told I could reapply for the other options, but I don’t see a way to do that after I submitted one application.
S
sloanjoan • 5 points
Same. Denied due to “too many recent inquiries” last inquiry was in November of 2025 (car shopping) And I’ve had 1.0 since 2023 without issue. Super bummed! 🙁

I called this number and they redirected me to another number who then said I had to email/char. Been on hold with chat for 90 minutes now
L
Lontoron • 11 points
They spun up the recon department once they got the question here. This launch is B A N A N A S
C
C-MontgomeryChurns • 10 points
there’s no evidence that there’s really a reconsideration department as such; people are only ever hearing to just re-apply in 45 days. that’s just a FU department, not a reconsideration department.
M
MacMat667 • 3 points
Reapplying in 45 days also means you get a hard pull on your credit, and new card number and everything. Really not a “seamless transition”. They didn’t even tell me WHY i got denied
R
richklhs • 19 points
No recon number today – let me ask the team what appeal process will be available. No plans for point pooling right now, this is honest a huge fraud risk that many programs have learned the hard way. EDIT: Recon number below.
