The recent surge in search interest for “Malachi Toney” can be attributed to his standout performance during a critical college football playoff game. Toney’s impressive plays were highlighted in multiple news articles, particularly noting how his contributions were pivotal in Miami’s successful effort against Ole Miss, as detailed in reports from Heavy Sports and Canes Warning.

Both articles emphasized Toney’s impact in the game, showcasing specific moments that not only demonstrated his skill but also significantly influenced the outcome, heightening his visibility among college football fans. Such performances naturally attract attention, especially during playoff scenarios where every game can lead to championship aspirations.

Furthermore, ESPN’s recent ranking of Toney among the 25 best freshmen in college football has likely fueled additional interest. Being recognized as one of the top prospects of the season positions him under a spotlight, making fans and analysts alike more eager to learn about his progress and performance in high-stakes games. This combination of a standout game and his ranking has consequently led to the increased search volume for Malachi Toney.

I think I saw the same post about Kadarius a few years ago. Hopefully this one is more accurate.

That’s the face of a Super Bowl winner if I’ve ever seen one.

Kadarius was actually an out of this world route runner, just had feet for hands

Malachi doesn’t have bricks, so it feels more likely to be true.

They aren’t related. How is that not common knowledge by now?
N

Who said they were?
A
AsleepTemperature320 • 13 points
Lol he’s out of bounds
B

Was still a ridiculous grab
S
SamuraiZucchini • 11 points
Yeah but the body control to reach back and catch that midair with one hand is insane
D
DaveTheDolphin • -3 points
I mean if this was a longer montage of the guy making similar catches you’d have a point but this is literally one “catch” that wouldn’t even count in the NFL and could even be considered as not having the best body control because he couldn’t get 2 feet or toes in bound. Good hands, but a whole body includes the legs

normal human beings are still capable of being impressed by “almost catches”. i don’t decide if i’m impressed by something based on the rulebook, this doesn’t count as a catch but it adds to the list of times toney has impressed me which is many i’m more impressed that he is a willing and capable blocker considering he’s a reclassified true freshman and should be a HS senior right now. obviously he’s a dynamic playmaker but he’s insanely well rounded for an 18 year old

Always_find_a_way24 • 1 points
Kid was 17 when the season started and would be drafted tmrw if he was eligible to come out this year. He looks like a special player.
A
AsleepTemperature320 • -3 points
Exactly! Someone that gets it
A
AsleepTemperature320 • -11 points
But he’s out of bounds so it doesnt count lol. So who cares?
P
ParagonSaint • 6 points
Dude. He just did something athletically that few people walking this earth are even capable of doing. Result of the play doesn’t matter, his talent and ability are on full display. Someone who can even have a chance of making this play is rare.
D
DamianLillard0 • 4 points
Just say you have no idea how to evaluate prospects
A
AsleepTemperature320 • -8 points
Which nfl team do you work for? Everyone on reddit thinking they know something about evaluating prospects because they watch college football. Go touch grass
D
DamianLillard0 • 6 points
You’re just a miserable dude, huh?
A

Lol okay pal. you’re just a clown trying to seem cool on reddit

You all told me marvin Harrison Jr was the greatest receiver prospect ever. How’d that work out?
B

Did u mean to reply to somebody else? Lmao
A
AsleepTemperature320 • -1 points
Lmao yeah my bad bro. Some clown that’s talking about talent evaluation
S
SamuraiZucchini • 1 points
wtf? Do you not understand how appealing that type of athleticism and catch radius is to NFL teams? No, he couldn’t magically extend the sideline for a pass thrown late and behind him but the dude did everything possible to make it a catch. Just admit you hate Miami and be done with it.
A
AsleepTemperature320 • -1 points
There is a ton of athleticism in the nfl. It’s insane to label him as a future all pro because of a play where he didnt even get one foot in bounds. He’s very athletic, great, no catch, its irrelevant. My opinion would be the same if he played for bowling green.
G
GoZards18 • 1 points
Yeah I think it’s not just this play but go ahead
L
Lazy-Swimming-2693 • -4 points
He got one foot down, that’s all that matters for college
T
Tasty_Cream57 • 7 points
He did not. It was ruled incomplete
G
GCBroncosfan413 • 4 points
Ya but the post is saying he will get accolades in the NFL, and then has a clip that would not be a catch in the NFL
B
BigBear4281 • 4 points
To be clear, this would also not be a catch in College. His foot comes down on the white, he’s OB, even on the first foot.
A
AsleepTemperature320 • 2 points
No he didn’t. They reviewed it and he was not in bounds. No catch
L
Lazy-Swimming-2693 • 2 points
Damn I got three reply’s correcting me within the minute. I take back what I said, my bad
A
AsleepTemperature320 • 0 points
Did you watch the game?
L
Lazy-Swimming-2693 • 3 points
No, I don’t typically watch college football. Most of my knowledge of rules comes from people around me who do. I just watch college clips to see cool stuff.
S
surebro2 • 1 points
To be fair to you since you didn’t watch the game… it was a technicality that you can’t quite see from this one clip (he did get his toes in, but then the heel came down out of bounds) lol
S
StankFish • -2 points
It was a catch. People acting like refs don’t fuck up all the time… https://preview.redd.it/knnwe9hoiccg1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b6d57082f293ad303147f88fb33883ce9b6f1ed1
B
ButtonImpressive646 • 1 points
yeah but in the nfl that’s still incomplete
X
Xoax34 • 0 points
They said well he didn’t try to toe tap and his foot came down normally so it’s not a catch. Like what the fuck I saw him hit green and then the heel hit out but it didn’t look like he tried to do that so it’s not a catch.
S
StankFish • 0 points
Refs are old part timers at their job so I don’t trust most of what they say especially when video evidence proves the opposite That “relinquishing the ball” intentional grounding was also bullshit. Fuck em still won, but NFL and CFB need a major rehaul of who should be allowed to ref
R
REVfoREVer • 1 points
They made the right call according to the rules. If you’re mad about it, you’re mad at the wrong people.
L
laker2021 • 3 points
This guys also plays all out every play. I’ve been most impressed with his blocking.
F
Few_Neighborhood_828 • 2 points
That’s not a catch in the nfl btw Edit the one handed part is good.
N
NoMajorsarcasm • 1 points
Wasn’t a catch in college either.
D
Deep-Acanthaceae-659 • 1 points
I think your missing the point
V
Various_Walk1420 • 1 points
The athleticism of the catch (and the rest of his play) was outstanding.
A
Aeon1508 • 1 points
Not a catch
R
RandomCalamity • 1 points
Pshhh, that isn’t even a catch in the NFL. I could also not catch that.
