I hate that somebody had to lose this game. It was highly entertaining (except the innumerable commercials). Not that it means anything but my hat’s off to Ole Miss and all they and their fans have been through with their Lane Kiffin circus.

That game was never as close as the score. Miami had the ball the entire game. Should have walked away with it, but it was nice to see Beck rise to the occasion.

What a terrible way to end a game on such a blatant PI. EDIT, otherwise what a game and both teams should be proud. Not hating on them. Just hate how such a quality game ended.

Ole Miss sort of did it to themselves. They had them at what 3rd & 8. Well under thrown ball would have made it 4th.. but nope facemask to keep the drive alive.

Oh I agree, that was dumb too. I just meant I guess the refs were clearly unafraid to throw flags in the final minutes, why not one more on the most obvious? I’ll likely pull for Miami now anyway but really ok with any of the remaning three winning. I don’t have a horse left in the fight. Good luck to Dan tonight, major fan of his.

Agreed! Didn’t have a dog in this fight but enjoyed watching this matchup! I always kinda get melancholy around this time because it means it’s approaching the end of the fun with fam & friends watching football (we still have the remaining NFL playoff games-YAY!) but watching college football is just different. TBH with all the post holiday humdrum and back to the daily grind it was actually a great way to just wind down and have a fun watch since my team was not in the fight so I didn’t feel too much stress and pressure but at the end of the day happy for Miami. Not sure Miami’s haphazard playing style is a match for Indiana (assuming they get the W tonight) but cool about them getting the “W” last night

Miami had a 7th year starter as QB? 11 players in their 5th season or more. Is that college football or basketball? Time to have college teams and pro teams at various colleges that don’t compete against each other. Bet the Miami team couldn’t find the library with a map and a bloodhound. Disgusting what Nike, Disney and SAS Have done to college sports.

While I agree in spirit, do you actually believe the Ole Miss players were there to play school?

Jesus, apparently Ray Lewis was talking shit to Lacy after Miami won the game…. Guess Lewis was bragging about how many people he murdered

Why in hell did Ole Miss stop the clock twice with timeouts in the last 40 seconds? If Miami was clock watching, it’s possible they could have made a costly mistake. Ole Miss let them off the hook, for no apparent reason. I don’t blame their interim coach. He’s a defensive guy and unfamiliar with clock management. I blame Lane “Traitor” Kiffin. How anyone can abandon an extremely talented group of young athletes, after leading them to their school’s greatest season ever, with a spot in the 12 team national championship playoff? Kiffin has far more ambition than sense, and now that the team has been eliminated, he is probably the most hated man in all of the Mississippi sports scene. I look forward to the next meeting between Ole Miss and LSU, scheduled for September 19th in Oxford, Miss. My hope is that a few of the players from this year’s team will play in this year’s game, that they wallop LSU like it’s never been manhandled before. Oh, and I do hope that Kiffin departs the stadium with two shiners, courtesy of an anonymous and very disgruntled former Rebel, who used the transfer portal to LSU for the right reason.

Lol unhinged. Kiffin wanted to coach them through the playoff. Ole Piss said no. Be mad at that lol
H

I blame Nick Saban. He rehabbed Kiffin’s career enough for him to dip out on Ole Miss and therefore left Golding with no idea how to manage that situation

My favorite social media comment was “The SEC has been eliminated from the CFB before the championship game for three seasons in a row now. Bit different now that everyone can pay their players, huh?”

I’m sure it helps now that its more equal that no one wants to live in the south as well.

Not necessarily just that, but that the academics also aren’t as good. Big10 for example has academic standards. Most d1 athletes aren’t going to wind up in the pros, so having a good education (not in basket weaving) matters.

The game was a lot closer than it actually was. Miami did their best to beat themselves and still won.

Mario said a lot of the team was suffering from the flu, including Fletcher. Boys just willed themselves to a victory. Great game and all respect to Chambliss and Ole Miss.

As someone who is exclusively hate watching Miami, damn it. As a football fan who wanted to be entertained, hot damn! I really wanna see that Miami offense versus IU’s defense.
B

If you really wanna stick it to Miami, you’d want to see Oregon smack Mario into the shadow realm. That’s a hate watch.

Indiana will roll over Oregon

So safe to say you guys 100% did not deserve to be in over Miami lol.
T
thebaddadgames • 2 points
Ya except literally nobody made that argument. Everyone I heard was saying we deserved to be in over Bama and OU, two teams with worse records who’s only loss wasn’t to two teams in the playoff by a combined 4pts including one of the teams that will play for the Natty now. How losing to Miami by 3pts rolled us out of the playoffs but Bama losing to FSU by 14 points will forever be a mystery. I realize yall just hate ND but you can just admit we were right we were fucked over by subpar worse SEC teams getting in because they play in a cupcake conference where only 2-3 of the teams are any good.
F
feetsnifferex • 1 points
Your flair and what you’re saying makes no fucking sense So Invalid argument
D

I hate ND, but they deserved to be in over Bama and JMU as well. Vandy, too, until we actually saw their bowl game, but a playoff might have been different.
F
frustratedelfant • 9 points
ND did not deserve to be in over Miami, but definitely deserved to be in over Alabama and Oklahoma.
F

Alabama won a playoff game
F
frustratedelfant • 1 points
Yes, against the other undeserving team…ND would have destroyed either one of them, and I doubt they would have lost by 35 to IU.
F

Uh I doubt it.

ND and BYU should have been in over Bama and OU

As much as I want to hate Miami because of Carson Beck, it’s honestly crazy in a good way that a team that was essentially a pity admit to the CFP solely because Virginia lost has made it all the way to the final. Wild postseason storyline for the Hurricanes

Stockton’s offense scored more points against Ole Miss than Beck’s did, we just gave up more on defense lmao
