The increased search interest in “law enforcement appreciation day” can be attributed to the recent observance of National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day on January 9, which has been recognized across various platforms and institutions. The official acknowledgment of this day, as highlighted by government and educational entities such as the State of Alaska and West Virginia University, has likely contributed to heightened awareness and engagement regarding the event.

Several official announcements, including Alaska’s Law Enforcement Appreciation Day declaration and WVU’s honoring of the day, reinforce the significance of this occasion. These communications serve to further promote the observance, encouraging individuals to seek more information about the event and its purpose, thereby driving search traffic.

Additionally, the promotion of the day on social media, as seen on platforms like Facebook, emphasizes the inherent respect and recognition for law enforcement personnel. This collective spotlight from official sources and online communities is likely contributing to the increased search volume, reflecting a broader societal acknowledgment of law enforcement’s role within local and national contexts.

Thank you for this, had some idiot say why shouldn’t he have been there, and I couldn’t find it (all searches about ice and vehicles were just leading to this incident or chases)

Which by the way… since he violated that training means that the state of Minnesota can try him for murder. It invalidates the absolute immunity that officers enjoy when they have followed the training/manuals. But when you willfully disobey the… no more immunity.

Honest_Cat_9120 • 350 points
So this means that ICE can shoot anyone who is “interfering”. Got it.
C
Correct_Patience_611 • 162 points
Not according to the DHS policy handbook! It says you cannot shoot if you “can move out of the path” of the vehicle. He clearly was out of the path bc he shot from slightly left of the vehicle!

Untrained yahoos with weapons terrorizing both immigrants and US citizens. What could go wrong?
J
jmerp1950 • 19 points
Yeah, like stay well out of path if vehicle that can potentially move ahead. Dumb ass shouldn’t have approached front of vehicle. Are they trained to stop cars with their bodies?
B
Boygunasurf • 11 points
They’re not trained at all. Not background checked or psych tested. They’re just run of the mill dirt bags who have failed in all other avenues of life
M

Liberals should join ICE, just do an incredibly bad job at it and not arrest anyone. Eventually they will fire you but in the mean time it will slow down the machine. Also if the govt is going to waste a ton of money on this, rather some of it go to decent people instead of racists.

Far More people were deported by the three former administrations, then by these fools and they did not have to use thug like tactics and be completely out of control. It’s an incompetent administration that has created this problem whereas before it was done by people with experience and some level of intelligence.
K

Sadly true. That dude was looking for a reason to shoot someone, and is looking for his next reason
A
AppearsInvisible • 3 points
I agree this guy was one of those just hoping for a chance to shoot someone. Put himself in front of that car so he could justify it. What he cannot justify is the last two shots after he was clear of the vehicle.

The thing is, this guy has 10 years experience. This was calculated murder. It’s a blueprint if it’s found to be legal by the courts.

They should at least have beanbag rounds or rubber bullets or something less lethal than shooting somebody in the face that’s not political. It’s just common sense. Seems like we don’t know what the fuck we’re doing the whole world sees it. Are we great yet?
H
he_is_Veego • 3 points
You see that draw? Three rounds on target in a second or two. This one was well trained, and has put many many rounds down range at the taxpayer’s dime.
J

The target was a couple feet away. Not much skill.

Is everyone forgetting he shot twice after it had driven away? Like what the fuck is wrong with these people?
I
iNapkin66 • 10 points
As somebody in a different part of DHS who carries guns. Agree this shoot was no good. If I were that officer, I would expect a call from investigators and be very concerned about the consequences. Its murder IMO.
E
Ebonhand69 • 3 points
Can you clarify if the attempted apprehension was even legal? I have heard that multiple people were shouting conflicting directions, and there doesn’t seem to be any justification for trying to enter her car. My understanding is that if the attempted apprehension was illegal, the perpetrator is culpable for all subsequent events. Like shooting a person who is falling to their death.

Come on? This kind of stuff happens all day in every big city. Amazon, pizza delivery, stalled vehicle, entitled Karen blocking traffic outside of designated school pick up, clueless teenager just got their license. Do the cops order someone out of the vehicle like that? No, that is not in the policy manual.

This is what happens when you hire underqualified, and undertrained, sadist for a law enforcement position.

What are they going to listen to? A handbook that’s above their reading level or the Vice President? Especially when they see that eyebrow creep in Minnesota is protected?

It’s almost like killing the driver of a moving vehicle is a bad idea because who knows how many other people are going to be hurt or worse.

This assumes most ICE officers can read. That’s the mistake.

Well if you keep pointing that out they are going change the handbook to officially allow murder…
B
Bad_Hombre_999 • 2 points
These people are out there shitting on the constitution, and you think a handbook is gonna make them admit their culpability in the murder of an (white) American citizen? OK, let’s roll with that. Can’t wait to see them take responsibility based on their own internal handbook – ill hold my breath.
H
Humble_Umpire_8341 • 2 points
He also put himself in the path of that vehicle, she didn’t go looking for him, he walked around out of her line of sight and then was in front of the car as she engaged with the agents to her left.
Z
Zeke688 • 2 points
Plus he makes a full circle around the vehicle while some of his fellow ‘officers’ are yelling at her to move the vehicle putting himself in harms way so that he’d have a reason to draw.
M

The policy will be amended to constitute full compliance. Also, citing laws or polices on the books of an apparent Nazi regime is a brain dead take. What the fuck are you going to do about it? You can’t hurt me because your handbook says you can’t hurt me… well she was hurt and you will do nothing.

also let’s not skip over “legitimate law enforcement operation”. nothing ICE is doing is about law enforcement and nothing about it is legitimate. they are there to cause chaos and provoke a response from the left. we literally gave j6er’s and other proud boy types badges you guys. that’s what happened and is happening, at-scale, with the mass hiring at ICE.

Vance is given talking points by his boss Peter Thiel who is on antichrist tour in part labeling women and women’s right like voting as the worst thing to happen to humanity. Look at how how he held Charlie Kirk’s wife that night. Hell Peter Thiel told Vance to convert to Catholicism. Vance will divorce his wife and go do a blonde bimbo like Trump. Vance knows the time is coming for him to replace Trump and he needs to sound like Trump to keep the base. At least that’s what Vance’s mentor and benefactor the cia/nsa biggest defense contractor has told him, Peter Thiel. Peter who gave Vance $15 million to become senator, has created companies for Vance to work at since 2011. Peter literally walked Vance into Mar-a-lago to smooth tensions with Trump so Vance could be his VP. Especially since a talking point that Peter Thiel (modern day German Nazi because he was born in Germany and grew up in a Nazi loving town) gave Vance was since 2016 Vance called Trump “America’s Hitler”. I wonder how much gratitude JD Vance shows Peter Thiel for making him senator and VP. After all Peter Thiel does love that dick so maybe that why it’s so easy to believe JD Vance “likes” couches. Then again even the Miami Police won’t rule what happened to Peter Thiel’s last boy toy a suicide so maybe Vance needs to do a better job of showing Thiel some high quality gratitude. Someone should ask him… For years Peter as a child/teenager lived in a town in former west South Africa called Swakopmund while his dad in violation of international law worked at uranium mines. While in that town he kept having to switch between school but the town itself idolized Nazism and Hitler. New York Times even did an article on the town back then. Thiel has gone on and on for years about scapegoat mechanism and how Trump fills that role perfectly. Basically have someone do stuff that is so bad that when he is removed that the masses think the problem is gone.
